Air Tahiti Nui Renews Fleet With 787-9

French Polysian flag carrier Air Tahiti Nui plans to order two 787-9 aircraft and lease another two to replace its ageing A340 fleet.

The carrier aims to begin replacing its current long-haul aircraft with four 787-9s from Q4 2018 to coincide with its 20th anniversary.

Boeing has confirmed it is working with the carrier to finalise the purchase of two 787-9 aircraft in a deal worth $514m at list prices.

Air Tahiti Nui has not confirmed which leasing firm it is looking to source the second pair of 787-9s, nor has it yet chosen which engine option will power the aircraft.
