Airasia Cleared For India Operation

India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued Airasia’s Indian budget carrier with an operating permit. This was the last hurdle for the airline to clear for operations to begin. No start date has been set for the airline’s first flight, though an initial start date in late 2013 was missed while the DGCA considered the airline’s proposal. Airasia India is backed by a troika that includes Airasia, the Tata and Telestra Tradeplace. Set to operate A320s, Airasia India will enter a where only one domestic airline avoided a loss in 2013
