Latvian flag carrier airBaltic has been named as the most punctual airline of 2014, according to flight data company OAG.
In the OAG Punctuality League 2014, airBaltic, Hawaiian Airlines and Austrian Airlines were named as the only carriers that saw nine out of 10 flights land within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time during 2014.
OAG analyses flight data for more than 900 airlines and this year’s league table was based on 43.5 million flight records.
Other airlines listed in the top ten included Iberia, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Japan Airlines.
Meanwhile an analysis of the world’s largest airports – those which process 20 million passengers a year – revealed that Munich Airport in Germany achieved the highest rate of on time arrivals and departures, followed by Japan’s Tokyo Haneda Airport and Seattle Tacoma International Airport in the US.
