Pilots at Allegiant Air, represented by the Airline Professionals Association (APA), have voted in favour of strike action.
"Virtually every pilot voted to authorise a strike,” confirmed APA teamsters president, Daniel Wells.
“That speaks volumes.” APA claim that Allegiant Air has failed to abide by a federal court injunction directing the airline to restore the pilots’ work-rule protections and benefits to previously negotiated levels.
“This does not mean a strike is going to happen tomorrow or even next week,” Wells explained.
However, he warned that if Allegiant continued to “stonewall” negotiations and disregard the court ruling then a strike was “very realistic”.
