American Adds New E175 To Its Fleet

American Airlines has launched services using an E175, its first large regional jet. The aircraft is being operated by Republic Airlines under the American Eagle brand. It will fly from Chicago O’Hare airport to Albuquerque International Sunport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans and Pittsburg International. American aims to have 47 E-Jets in service by 1Q 2015, adding between one and three each month. The fleet growth is part of a 12-year capacity purchase agreement (CPA) with Republic Airways Holdings. Republic Airways Holdings has struck a deal with the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to finance the 47 aircraft.
