Asiana Considers Low-Cost Subsidiary

Korean carrier Asiana Airlines is considering the launch of a Seoul-based budget carrier to compete with the 11 that already operate in South Korea. Asiana already owns almost half of one of those, Air Busan, but will fully control any new airline, according to reports in Korean media. Asiana has formed a task force to investigate the launch of a new budget arm, as well as other strategies to improve its business.
