ATR Comments On TransAsia Crash

ATR has released an initial statement on the TransAsia Airways aircraft that crashed yesterday (July 23) in Taiwan with the loss of 46 of the 58 people on board.

The manufacturer said that the ATR 72-500 turbprop, serial number MSN642, was delivered new to the airline in 2000, and that the circumstances of the accident are still being investigated.

The Aviation Safety Council of Taiwan is to lead the investigation and will be the official source of information.
