Austrian And Tyrolean To Merge In April

Austrian carrier Tyrolean Airways will merge with flag carrier Austrian Airlines from April 1 next year, an announcement today (December 5) has confirmed.

The merger will see all Tyrolean flights operate under the Austrian Airlines banner, with some 3,200 flight attendants and pilots transferring across from Tyrolean.

About 150 station employees and 30 flight operations administrators will also switch.

Tyron Technik, the Innsbruck-based MRO arm of the carrier, will remain an independent company and rebrand as Tyrolean Airways Luftfahrzeuge Technik from March 2015.
