Bae Systems Wins More Business From Eastern Airways

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has won a three year spares support contract from UK airline Eastern Airways to cover 16 of its Jetstream 41 turboprop aircraft. The new contract is for the ‘Materials and Components Repair and Overhaul’ (MACRO) rate-per-flying-hour programme. The contract includes 176 aircraft rotable parts with BAE Systems being responsible for the spares inventory; logistics and repairs. The Eastern Airways contract closely follows a similar three year contract extension awarded to BAE Systems from Braathens Technical of Sweden, covering its subsidiary Malmö Aviation’s fleet of 12 Avro RJ regional jetliners. The latest contracts bring the value of business won by BAE Systems in 12months to £35m from seven airlines.
