Western Air, based in The Bahamas, recently purchased three Embraer ERJ-145s from the manufacturer and signed a multi-year component support agreement with the OEM, as well.
The component support agreement, part of Embraer’s Flight Hour Pool Program, includes material services engineering and exchanges from the manufacturer’s warehouses in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The privately held airline, founded in 2001 and headquartered in Andros, Bahamas, supposedly plans to purchase additional aircraft by the end of 2018, although details were not available.
It operates facilities in San Andros and Freeport, Grand Bahama.
The airline also flies Saab 340s.
