Belavia Upgrades 737 Fleet

Minsk-based Belavia Belarusian Airlines has ordered three 737-800s, its maiden order with Boeing. "The purchase will make it possible to open new scheduled flights to destinations which currently are unavailable due to the remoteness of the base airport," said Anatoly Gusarov, director general of Belavia. Belavia will use the aircraft for non-stop flights to destinations such as Tenerife, Canary Islands and Dubai, and to open new scheduled services. The airline’s current fleet consists of six 737-500s and seven 737-300s.
