Comair Files Actions Against SAA Funding

Comair is to take legal action against the South African government in a bid to curb its funding of the national carrier, South African Airways (SAA), local news sources have reported. This latest proposed round of government aid, which Comair contests, would be the government’s eighth. Last year, it agreed to guarantee ZAR5bn ($566m) for SAA. Comair has said the intention was not to stop funding altogether but to ensure any support was competitive and in compliance with domestic transport policy.
