Dobrolet’s Replacement To Launch

Aeroflot is to open reservations for a new low-cost carrier replacing Dobrolet which closed under sanctions from the European Union.

The new LCC will operate under the name Pobeda, which means victory in Russian and is thought to be a barbed reference to the flag carrier’s continuation despite EU sanctions.

Pobeda is expected to launch operations across a domestic network on November 17 with a fleet of up to four 737-800s transferred from Aeroflot.

Local media has reported that initial routes will include: Moscow to Belgorod and Volgograd in Russia’s European region; Moscow to Kazan and Samara on the Volga River; and Moscow to the Siberian cities of Tyumen and Surgut.
