Low-cost carrier easyJet has placed an order for 36 A320 family aircraft worth $3.8bn at current list prices.
The agreement for the six A320ceo and 30 A320neo jets now takes the easyJet’s cumulative order for the type to 451 aircraft.
The airline cited its “continued robust trading, high demand for easyJet flights and the number of profitable opportunities in our markets” as the reason behind the additional order.
The order was announced on Tuesday (November 17) by easyJet in the reporting of its annual results, where it announced a 22 per cent year-on-year climb in net profit to £548m ($834m).
In the year ending September 30, passenger numbers rose six per cent to 68.6 million and revenues increased by 3.5 per cent to almost £4.7bn ($7.1bn).
