Embattled Alitalia Welcomes International Growth

Alitalia has reported a 3.4 per cent rise in international passengers from 2012 to 2013, thanks largely to improvements on South and North American services. International load factor also improved in 2013, rising by two percentage points to 74.8 per cent. The airline also completed the reorganisation and optimisation of arrival and departure flight times at Rome Fiumicino airport. The “re-hubbing” process was designed to offer more convenient connections for passengers arriving from other Italian airports and for those returning on flights from North America.
