Emirates 1H Revenue Soars 13 Per Cent

The Emirates Group has announced in its 1H results that revenue soared by 13 per cent compared to the same period last year. Revenue totalled AED42.3bn ($11.5bn) for the first six months of the financial year ending 30 September, up on AED7.5bn ($10.2bn) in 2012. Net profit rose to AED2.2bn ($600m), an increase of four per cent over last year's results and the cash position was AED18.2bn ($4.9bn), compared to AED 27bn ($7.3bn) on March 31. The group says it was a robust performance despite continued global economic pressure and high fuel prices, and reflected steady focus on its long-term vision and business growth. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and CE, of Emirates Airline and Group, said: "The global business environment continues to be challenging. We have stayed agile even as we grow, and this ability to adapt and act quickly has been key to our success.”
