ERA Welcomes Blue Air

Romanian airline Blue Air has become the newest member of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA), joining a further 50 European airlines.

Blue Air, founded in 2004, was the first Romanian airline to be launched with 100 per cent private equity.

General director of Blue Air Gheorghe Răcaru said: “We are looking forward to working with the association and other member airlines to ensure that the concerns of European regional airlines are heard and that their contribution to the economic and social development of Europe is understood.”

Acquired by Air Management Solutions in 2013, the new owners stated they are “committed to strengthening Blue Air’s market position, upgrading the carrier’s services and gradually increasing the size of its fleet”.
