Etihad Moves Into Top 10 Cargo Carriers

The cargo division of Etihad Airways has been listed in WorldACD’s monthly top 10 cargo carrier rankings for the first time since its launch in 2004. The firm, which is based at Abu Dhabi International Airport, confirmed that it had carried record amounts of cargo in April and May this year, with weights up 30 per cent and 31 per cent on 2013. Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways’ chief strategy and planning officer, confirmed the increase in cargo traffic was the result of better capacity utilisation on routes to and from India, the Netherlands and the US and more hold capacity to and from Munich, New York and Chengdu, alongside enhanced scheduling and optimised connections.
