Low-cost carrier fastjet has posted traffic results for August 2013. The airline’s Tanzanian operation carried over 33,000 passengers, the highest monthly total since fastjet flights commenced in November 2012. The figure represents a near six per cent increase on the previous month and a load factor of 84 per cent. In combination, fastjet and fly540 carried 78,500 passengers in August, over 30 per cent more than in the same period last year. Revenues were above $2.7m, which fastjet CEO and chairman Ed Winter said “exceeded expectations”.
