An HR service provider and a manufacturer of X-ray equipment are set to become the majority shareholders of Flybe Nordic.
Staffpoint and GW Sohlberg (GWS) have signed a letter of intent to buy Flybe’s 60 per cent share in the regional carrier for €1, after minority shareholder Finnair confirmed in November that Flybe would be exiting the JV.
The agreement, which must receive approval from the Finnish competition authorities, would see Staffpoint own a 45 per cent stake in Flybe Nordic and GWS own 15 per cent.
Finnair’s CEO, Pekka Vauramo, said: “We are pleased that we will have Finnish companies StaffPoint and GWS as partners. When the deal is realised, Flybe Finland and its board of directors will start jointly developing a business model for the company and improving the effectiveness and profitability of regional flying.”
