Flydubai Enlists AAR For 737 MAX Support

Low-cost carrier will have access to U.S. MRO's new parts facility in Dubai.

Flydubai will receive component MRO services for its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft fleet from AAR after expanding its aftermarket support with the U.S. company.

Marking AAR’s first support contract for the 737 MAX, flydubai will gain access to the aftermarket specialist’s supply chain network including components from its recently opened facility in Dubai.

The low-cost carrier currently has a commitment for 100 of the new generation narrowbodies made at the 2013 Dubai International Airshow. Deliveries began last month and will continue up to 2023.

AAR has provided support on flydubai’s existing 737-800 fleet since September 2016.

“As the first customer of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 in the region, we are looking forward to bringing further fuel and operating efficiency to our young modern fleet,” said flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith. “AAR is a key partner with an enduring commitment to innovation and reliability, and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”
