Fokker Services Upgrades Collision Avoidance System At Atran Cargo Airlines

Atran Cargo Airlines will adopt the latest Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) 7.1 from Fokker Services across the company’s 737 fleet. TCAS 7.1 originated in a Eurocontrol initiative and aims to improve reversal logic by identifying events where aircraft continue vertical convergence despite resolution advisories. European Union regulations mandate that all aircraft above 5,700kg maximum take-off weight or with a capacity above 19 passengers implement improved reversal logic. An extended December 2015 deadline has been established for aircraft to upgrade collision avoidance systems.
