Garuda Plans MAX Transition

Indonesian flag carrier Garuda has been identified as the customer behind an order for 50 737 MAX 8s. Garuda already operates 77 current-generation 737s and has converted four 737-800 commitments to MAX orders. Last year the carrier announced plans to double its fleet by 2025. Taking retirements into account, this would require it to take delivery of up to 250 aircraft in the next decade.
