Glasgow Airport To Be Nationalised

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is to be taken over by the Scottish government after being put up for sale earlier in the year by owners Infratil. The government has moved to buy the airport – which loses about £2m per year – following weak interest from private investors. The takeover has been welcomed by Ryanair, which operates 27 routes from Glasgow and has a maintenance hangar at the airport.
