Gopinath Scrutinises Airasia India Progress

Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath is to assess the success of the Airasia-Tata joint venture before launching a new Indian low-cost carrier himself, Indian media reports. Like Tata, Gopinath is also believed to have a foreign partner for a proposed new airline, so he will now wait and see whether Airasia India receives necessary government approvals. Gopinath sold Air Deccan to Vijay Mallya’s now-collapsed Kingfisher Airlines in 2007.
