Green Light For ANA & Lufthansa Cargo JV

Japanese authorities have approved an application from All Nippon Airways and Lufthansa Cargo to launch a joint venture.

The Japanese Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport has confirmed that the JV meets antitrust regulations, enabling the carriers to move ahead with their plans to provide joint cargo services between Japan and Europe.

The firms are set to sign a JV contract in the coming weeks and begin working together on shipments originating from Japan to Europe this winter and for shipments from Europe to Japan by mid-2015.

In 2012, Lufthansa and ANA launched a JV on passenger routes between Japan and Europe.
