Heathrow Opens £2.5bn New T2

Heathrow’s new Terminal 2 will receive its first flights tomorrow (June 4) 59 years after the original terminal opened. The new terminal will be home to 26 airlines – 23 members of the Star Alliance as well as Aer Lingus, Germanwings and Virgin Atlantic Little Red – and will see more than 330 flights leave each day. The terminal cost £2.5bn to build and is the last phase in the £11bn investment programme which saw the construction of Terminal 5 and a new control tower, as well as the refurbishment of Terminals 3 and 4.
