Iberia Maintenance Will Service DHL’s RB211 Engines

Agreement with the cargo carrier will run for 10 years.

Iberia Maintenance, the MRO division of the Spanish airline, has signed a contract to inspect and repair the Rolls-Royce RB211 535-E4 engines powering DHL Air UK and Blue Dart’s Boeing 757 aircraft fleet.

Both cargo carriers, subsidiaries of DHL Express, will have coverage from Iberia for 40 engines across a 10-year period. The agreement expands on an existing contract where Iberia services RB211-535C engines on DHL Express’ Deutsche Post DHL division.

In total, DHL Air UK’s fleet is made up of 24 757s, comprised of 20 757-200SFs and four 767-300Fs.

The RB211 is among a number of engines serviced by Iberia from its main facility in Madrid. Other engine types include the CFM56-5A1 and -5B, CFM56-7B and IAE’s V2500.
