Lion Air is to lease four 737-800s and one 737-900 from BOC Aviation. The aircraft are due for delivery during this year and 2015. “The demand for short-haul regional routes remains robust, both within and outside of Indonesia,” said Rusdi Kirana, president of Lion Air. The airline struck a deal with the lessor in November 2012 when it signed a lease agreement for six 737-800 and three 737-900ER aircraft. “This second transaction with BOC Aviation underscores the success of our strategy and our partnership with BOC Aviation in providing financing solutions for our 737NG aircraft delivery stream,” said Kirana.
