Lufthansa Prepares For Debilitating Strike

Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings will cancel 3,800 flights on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday if a walkout promised by pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) goes ahead. Only about 500 Lufthansa flights are expected to operate during the strike, which would be one of the largest in the airline’s history. However, flights crew at Lufthansa Group subsidiaries Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa CityLine and Air Dolomiti are not participating in the walkout.
