MTU To Undertake CF34 Work For African Airline

Maintenance business will cover the engine type used to power Embraer’s 170 jets.

MTU Maintenance will carry out MRO services on Air Burkina’s four CF34-8E engines powering its fleet of Embraer 170 aircraft.

The terms of the three-year contract with the Burkina Faso national airline cover maintenance, repair and overhaul, on-site services and the guarantee of spare engine leasing availability.

Services will be carried out at MTU’s specialist shop in Berlin, which operates as a GE authorized CF34 service provider.

Air Burkina, headquartered in Burkino Faso’s capital Ouagadougou operating regionally across the African continent, becomes MTU’s first customer in sub-Saharan Africa.
