MTU Wins $31m Air Costa MRO Contract

MTU Maintenance has signed a €25m ($31m) 10-year contract with Indian regional carrier Air Costa covering the maintenance of the CF34-8/-10 engines powering its fleet of E170 and E190 aircraft.

The agreement, which sees Air Costa become MTU’s first Indian customer, also covers line-replaceable unit management and the provision of spare engines.

The overhaul work will be carried out at MTU’s Berlin Brandenburg facility. Earlier this year, Air Costa ordered 50 E2 Jets from Embraer with an option for a further 50 – the second largest order for the aircraft from an airline.
