New CEO At Etihad Airways Engineering

Industry veteran Abdul Khaliq Saeed takes the helm at the maintenance division of the airline group.

Etihad Airways Engineering has appointed Abdul Khaliq Saeed as its new CEO, replacing Jeff Wilkinson, who steps down after more than 11 years with the Abu Dhabi-based MRO.

Saeed, who has more than 35 years’ experience in the commercial aircraft maintenance industry, joins Etihad from fellow Abu Dhabi company Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S), where he has been CEO since 2014.

Before TS&S, he was president and CEO of Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, which became Etihad Airways Engineering in 2014 after being acquired by the airline group.

Ray Gammell, Interim Group CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, said of the appointment: “Abdul Khaliq’s MRO experience, knowledge of the regional aviation market and proven track record makes him the clear choice to operate and grow this critical part of the Etihad Aviation Group.”
