Nok Air To Provide In-Flight Wi-Fi

Thailand’s low-cost airline, Nok Air, is to provide passengers with access to broadband from August 2014. It will use Thaicom, Thailand’s leading satellite operator, which will provide the first system in Asia-Pacific to provide commercial in-flight connectivity services using Ku-band. Patee Sarasin, CEO of Nok Airlines, explained: “Nok Air is adding in-flight wi-fi to our existing complimentary services to increase our appeal to passengers, particularly the new generation who insist on connectivity.” The wi-fi connection will be initially available on domestic flights, which constitute the bulk of Nok Air’s operations.
