Qatar Airways Places Order for 30 787s, 10 777s

Qatar Airways has announced an order worth $11.7bn for 30 787-9 aircraft and 10 777-300ERs.

In addition to the order announced on Friday (October 7), the airline has also signed a letter of intent for up to 60 737 MAX 8s, valued at $6.9bn at list prices.

The new announcements will add to Qatar’s existing Boeing fleet totaling 84 aircraft, comprised of 787s and 777s.

The 787 and 777 orders also increases Qatar’s firm order for Boeing widebodies to 105 aircraft, which also includes an existing order for up to 60 777Xs.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Ray Conner said: “Our partnership with Qatar Airways has grown and strengthened tremendously over the years and I look forward to the time when its fleet will feature an increasing number of both our single and twin-aisle airplanes.”
