Resistance Mounts To Airasia India

Airasia’s attempts to start an Indian low-cost carrier could be set back after courts granted a petition to quash foreign investment clearance for Airasia India, a joint venture between Malaysia’s Airasia and Indian companies Tata Sons and Telestra Tradeplace. “It’s an illegal project. Not only do I want the court to quash it but also the officers who passed it … should be prosecuted under the corruption act,” said Subramanian Swamy, the originator of the petition. India’s government has four weeks to respond to the petition.
