S7 Technics Completes Aeroflot, Rossiya Redelivery Check

The Russian redelivery project saw the Airbus A320 undergo a series of checks followed by a paint job.

Russian MRO S7 Technics has completed a redelivery check on an Airbus A320 entering the fleet of Rossiya Airlines. Work on the narrowbody aircraft, formerly operated by Rossiya’s parent carrier Aeroflot, was completed last month at S7’s Mineralnye Vody base situated in Stavropol Krai.

According to S7, which has carried out redelivery work for five years, the project included 1С, 4С, 6Y and 12Y heavy сhecks for Aeroflot, which it has worked with since 2015. In the following three years, 11 redelivery checks have been completed at the Mineralnye Vody facility.

Once completed, the maintenance provider’s paint shop gave the aircraft its new livery using the base coat and clear coat painting system developed by Dutch specialist Akzo Nobel.

Igor Panshin, S7 Technics’ deputy general director for planning and sales, says a redelivery process will typically present challenges to an MRO provider.

“The main challenge of these checks – apart from the standard set of works aimed at the aircraft’s continued airworthiness – requires ensuring that the aircraft and, equally importantly, its documentation, complies fully with the terms of the leasing contract,” he said. “For this you need certain experience.”
