Singapore Airlines will debut a planned cabin upgrade for its Airbus A380 fleet on the first of the carrier's new deliveries.
A spokesman for the carrier confirmed that details about new cabin products will be revealed at an official launch in Singapore towards the end of this year. The first of SIA's five new A380 deliveries is due to be delivered within the current fiscal year, which runs through March 31.
The carrier will also retrofit 14 of the 19 A380s in its existing fleet, the spokesman said. SIA is expected to return the other five to lessors as their leases expire. The timeline for the retrofits will be revealed at the product launch.
The Straits Times reports that the cabin upgrade will include some reconfiguration, with first class suites being reduced in number and moved to the upper deck.
