Singapore Releases New UAV Regulations

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) have updated regulations surrounding unmanned aircraft operations in the country.

With the amendments, the new regulations which take effect from June 1 bans UAVs from carrying dangerous materials including weapons, bio-chemical or radioactive material.

It also prohibits the discharge of any substance from UAVs without a permit while requiring a permit to fly or operate a UAV that weighs more than 7kg.

The regulation outlaws photographs being taken by UAVs over security-sensitive locations.
