SpiceJet In Talks Over $11bn Aircraft Order

Indian low-cost carrier (LCC) SpiceJet is in talks with Boeing and Airbus over an order for 100 aircraft worth $11bn at current list prices.

According to Reuters, the airline’s chief financial officer Kiran Koteshwar said on Wednesday (July 29) that SpiceJet is looking to buy more A320neo and 737 MAX aircraft and would look to place an order by the end of the current financial year.

SpiceJet, which was rescued from collapse earlier this year, has so far made profits in the first two quarters of 2015.

The LCC already has an existing order for 42 737 MAX aircraft which are scheduled for delivery from 2018.
