SSJ100s Return To Interjet Fleet After Stabilizer Node Issue Fixed

11 of the Interjet-operated jets were grounded before Christmas after discovery of defects.

11 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft have returned to the fleet of Mexican carrier Interjet after work on stabilizer node defects was completed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA).

The aircraft were grounded last month following the issue, which resulted in a team of 22 technicians from SCA going to Mexico to assist with the airworthiness restoration work.

The troubleshooting procedure was agreed with Russia’s aviation authority, the Federal Air Transport Agency and carried out under control of Mexico’s DGAC.

"Thanks to the joint work done with the manufacturer, the process was carried out in a shorter time than initially considered,” said José Luis Garza, CEO of Interjet, which is the world’s second largest operator of the SSJ100 with a fleet of 22 of the Russian-made aircraft.
