Suharto Rejects Rolls Graft Claim

The son of a former Indonesian president has denied allegations that he was bribed by Rolls-Royce to secure an order for the British company for Trent 700 engines from flag carrier Garuda in 1990. Tommy Suharto’s lawyers told the UK Serious Fraud Office that he did not receive $20m and a car from Rolls in return for any deal. They added: "The SFO has not contacted Rolls-Royce, Garuda or Mr Suharto and there is no legal case or investigation, pending or otherwise, in relation to these false allegations."
