Sydney Airport Prepped For Low Visibility

The main north-south runway at Sydney Airport is now ready for low visibility operations. An upgrade has fitted high intensity approach and strobe lights at both ends of the runway. Airservices Australia has also improved the Instrument Landing System at the airport. Aircraft can now land in visibility conditions down to 350 metres. The previous limit was set at 550-1500. CASA, Australia’s aviation safety regulator, now rates the airport as Category II
