Third Passenger Dies From Asiana Crash

A third passenger has died as a result of the Asiana Airlines 777 crash on July 7. Chinese teenager, Liu Yipeng, was travelling with classmates to a language summer camp in California when the aircraft crashed into the sea wall in front of the runway at San Francisco International Airport. Of the 291 passengers, 180 were hospitalised and two others, Ye Mengyuan and Wang Linjia, were killed. Escaping the aircraft, Ye was allegedly hit by a fire truck that had been deployed to put out flames from the aircraft. She was found covered in fire resistant foam, which had been used to cover the runway, which is believed may have hidden her. It is unclear whether Ye died before or as a result of being hit by the fire truck. Investigations are being carried out to determine the cause of the crash and deaths. Reports suggest the pilot was flying too low on his approach to the runway.
