Ugly Times For Belle Air

Albanian airline Belle Air has ceased operations and five of its A320 aircraft are reported to have been returned to lessors. “The reasons that brought this are the general economic situation, the dropping of the buying power, recession in the markets where we operate and the blockage of all bank accounts for more than 18 days,” the airline stated. News site Albeu, however, reported Albania’s minister of transport saying that none of the airline’s accounts had been frozen. Belle Air operated a leased fleet consisting of two ATR72 turboprops, three A319s and two A320s.
