United Reports Operational Results For August

United Airlines has posted operational results for August 2013, showing a decrease of 0.5 per cent in consolidated traffic (revenue passenger miles) and a 1.4 per cent drop in consolidated capacity (available seat miles) compared with the same period last year. Consolidated load factor increased by 0.8 points, while consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) rose by roughly four per cent. United Continental Holdings said: “Weakness in the Pacific entity, primarily driven by the yen depreciation, reduced consolidated PRASM by approximately one percentage point in August.”
