VietJet Air has confirmed its order for up to 100 A320 aircraft. The deal was first announced at the Aviation Expo in Beijing last September. The $6.4bn deal includes firm orders for 42 A320neos, 14 A320ceos and seven A321ceos, plus purchase rights for 30 aircraft and the lease of another seven from a third-party lessor. The aircraft will be delivered from 2014 to 2018, starting with the A320ceos. VietJet Air, the first private airline in Vietnam, started operations in 2011 and currently flies 11 A320s both domestically and internationally. The carrier said it will use CFM56 engines for the A320ceos, but is undecided whether CFM's LEAP engine or Pratt & Whitney's PW1000G will power its A320ceos.
