United Technologies has bought a predictive analytics boutique as part of the Tier 1 supplier’s corporate push into becoming a software-industrial giant.
UTC said Aug. 21 it acquired Predikto of Atlanta under undisclosed terms. Predikto will have a presence there and in Brooklyn, New York, where UTC just opened a so-called digital lab near the Brooklyn Bridge.
According to UTC, Predikto is known for its proven, cloud-based predictive health maintenance system. In particular, Predikto’s technology platform “is able to take hundreds of disparate industrial asset data-sets and automate up to 80% of the analytics process to quickly deliver actionable insights for taking pre-emptive steps to avoid issues, thereby increasing asset uptime.”
