Moog and Etihad Aviation Group Partner on Component Support

The agreement will help Etihad Airways Engineering expand its in-house component capabilities.

Etihad Aviation Group has just announced a strategic 15-year partnership with precision-control parts and systems provider Moog. The collaboration, which was announced at the Bahrain International Airshow, will see Moog providing support to both Etihad Airways and Etihad Airways Engineering

Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, says the company is proud to collaborate with Moog. “In a rapidly expanding market, this strategic partnership offers total support on components installed on the Etihad Airways Fleet, as well as developing Etihad Airways Engineering as a center of excellence,” says Douglas.

Under the partnership, Moog will provide global access to its component pool and complete repair support to the airline on a range of part numbers fitted to its fleet. Etihad’s current commercial fleet is comprised of the Airbus A320, A330 and A380 families as well as the Boeing 787-9 and the 777 family. Etihad has 62 A350 aircraft on order.

In addition, Moog will support Etihad Airways Engineering and help it to expand its onsite component capability. The MRO provider says this is the first step in its ambition to grow in-house component capabilities. In August, CEO of Etihad Airways Engineering Khaliq Saeed told MRO Network that the company is aggressively looking into expanding its component repair capabilities to cater to aircraft such as the 787 and A380.
