Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S) signed a V2500 engine parts repair agreement with MTU Maintenance, which should cut costs and speed turnaround time for customers, says Abdul Khaliq Saeed, TS&S CEO. “It also gives us the benefit of a reliable and efficient partner,” he says.
Previously, TS&S, an engine MRO based in Abu Dhabi, used about a dozen repair vendors, but under this new long-term contract, MTU will receive the majority of the outsourced components, which will streamline TS&S’s supply chain.
During MRO Middle East, Khaliq told Aviation Week that TS&S maintains about 100 engines per year and increased its revenue by 30% in 2016, compared to the previous year. In 2017, he hopes to maintain that growth, if not exceed it.
TS&S, owned by Mubadala, likes to align with OEMs and includes Rolls-Royce and IAE as customers. Etihad also is another big customer.
In addition to the V2500, TS&S also provides MRO services for the Rolls-Royce Trent 700, which powers the Airbus A330.
